Bella isnt just packing a proven pedigree but with LIMITED hauling she is proving to be a true athlete herself ! As of 5-5-11 She had only been loping the barrel pattern and was hauled to a Martha Josey clinic in Texas where she was asked to RUN the pattern for the first time on the last day of a 3 day clinic and she placed 2nd in the 2D out of 60 high caliber horses. Then soon after the clinic we began running a local summer series and won the green horse almost everytime unless there was a rider error that caused us to tip a barrel or not have the best pattern. Soon after that I entered her in her 2nd ever 4D run and she placed 9th in the 1D out of 130 plus horses !!! We then went to a few more summer series shows and took a break wile there were personal issues taking up a majority of my time. Bella will be back up and running after I finish legging her up and she should be hitting the arena again VERY VERY SOON !!!
~~~~ 9/4/12 plans change but the future is still bright ! BELLA HAS BEEN BRED TO FIRST DOWN FRENCH FOR A SPRING 2013 FOAL !!
*Frost My Cash* 2008 Bay AQHA Filly standing 15.3 hands
"Boosie" was given to me on July 28th 2011 by a great friend named Cathy and she was a blessing in disguise to say the least ! She was given to me as a broodmare prospect because of her having some COPD or Anhydrous issues but after some testing we found out it was just anhydrous and she would be fine to ride in cool weather (this summer has been the hottest on horses and 75% of performance horses quit sweating as they normally would) . BUT thanks to the good Lord he had this all planned out ! In September my other barrel horse Holiday got injured badly and suffered a broken splint bone and then a bone infection ...after running out of options and money I gave her to a good friend who is a vet tech and was able to start the next treatment she needed and she will hopefully make a full recovery. Right after Holiday was injured I came home to feed and was out brushing Boosie when I realized she was SWEATING and not just a little it was A LOT I was so happy I was squealing !! Boosie has been a TRUE blessing and I could not be more thankful to Mrs. Cathy for giving me the opportunity to own her !! Boosie has an amazing handle and rides like a old season gelding she is perfect in every way !
*Wendy Beaux Bars* 1993 APHA breeding stock Mare standing 15.2 hands tall
Wendy was my first ever barrel horse ! I have always had a horse growing up but never a actual barrel horse. It was just by pure fate that we found Wendy and she was not even for sale at the time. We had went on a 2 hr drive to look a a horse that was for sale in the paper and the horse did not work out so on the way home we passed a place with a ton of horses in the pasture so we decided to stop and ask if they had anything for sale and told them what we were searching for. They said the only thing they MIGHT would consider selling was a mare that was not at there house at the time because she had a colt at her side and went off with the baby until it was weaned at the new owners home. So 2 weeks later we drove back to try her and she was JUST WHAT I WANTED - FULL OF FIRE AND A ATTITUDE TO BACK IT ! I was only 12 at the time and I though I could take her on ! Well Wendy taught me different, She was a just as hard headed as I was and I credit her for teaching me to become a REAL horseman and cowgirl. For a solid 8 months Wendy took me on a queen lap EVERY TIME we went for first barrel and I learned really fast after getting drug off on the fence or ran through a crowd of people that my little 80 pound body could not take her on ! So we went to our first Martha Josey clinic where my view of barrel racing really broadened and I learned SO MUCH !! After a few bit changes and some "come to Jesus meetings" Wendy was a good as gold ..on the pattern at least ....and I went on to win my age group in barrels and poles for 5 strait years before Wendy was sidelined for 2 years due to a bone chip. I was so new to barrel racing we did not know of 4D barrel runs but I DID get to attend a handful of NBHA 4D runs and jackpots right before her injury and she won the 1D or jackpot every time we entered and could SMOKE a set of pole ! Wendy did everything like she had done it forever and was GOOD at it ! I LOVED to do everything from jumping, sorting, roping, break away and even halter with her ! She even won our class in the parish 4H show all 3 years i entered her !
Wendy no longer competes she worked so hard for me and taught me to be the rider I am today and I am SO grateful to have her in my life ! We bred her for the first time in 2009 and had a PERFECT little stud colt on April 24, 2010 and I look forward to the first ride on him if he is ANYTHING like his momma he will be GREAT !!!
